O Canada —Valley of Dry Bones

A few months ago at a prophetic meeting, I was asked to give a word to someone I had only just met—someone travelling to Canada who was politically connected. As soon as I opened my mouth to speak, I began to weep deeply for my homeland, something I had never done before. I have not lived there in years and it became clear to me that this weeping was not coming from me. I immediately knew that the Father was weeping over the Nation of Canada—over the political and spiritual turmoil in the country.

I don't really remember the word I gave to the man in that moment but then, on 16 March 2026, I had a dream in which I started singing the National Anthem of Canada.  Definitely something I'd not done in many years and nor was it on the forefront of my mind!

O Canada our home and native land,
True patriot love in all of us command,
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free.
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

When I woke up I was so struck that I was singing this and knew it carried prophetic weight.

In the spirit realm, there is a sound that precedes movement. For those who are Canadian, or who carry Canada in their heart, this is not just a national anthem, it is a declaration. I believe God is calling the righteous remnant in Canada to lift their voices—not just in prayer, but in declaration to sing “O Canada” not as routine, but as an agreement with Heaven. To release it as a prophetic sound that aligns with what the Lord of Hosts is doing in this hour.

In Ezekiel 37 we have a precedent on how the Prophet Ezekiel dealt with the valley of dry bones in Israel. When Ezekiel was set in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones..it was not only full of bones but they were very dry! This is a clear parallel picture of the spiritual state of the Nation of Canada.  Ezekiel then asked the Lord, "how can these bones live"?  Only the Sovereign Lord knows!  And indeed only the Lord knows what Canada needs in this hour!

Then the instruction comes—prophesy to the bones. Say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.”  In the same manner we need to speak to Canada and command it to hear the word of the Lord!

When the prophet speaks there is a sound — a rattling. Movement begins before life is visible. Bone comes to bone and structure begins to return. Then breath is called in, and what was dead stands again.

So how can Canada live? Only the Lord knows. But the instruction is being released. There is a Remnant people in the land who are being called to open their mouths and to come into agreement with what has already been spoken over the nation from coast to coast. The anthem is not empty.  It carries words that align with the intention of God over the land—strong, glorious and free, guarded, and kept.

This is not about singing it as a tradition or "vain repetition" but about speaking and declaring into the ground — prophesying to the dry national bones. This is about releasing a sound that meets what is already happening in the Spirit.

Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness in this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

So, our voices matter, our obedience to say what He has commanded us to say is important as it speaks into the land.  Who knew that God could use the National Anthem to reverse the tide of captivity.

Prayer

Father God, I come into agreement with what You are doing over Canada. As voices are lifted across this nation in alignment with Your word, let there be movement in the unseen that breaks through into the natural. Let what is dry come into alignment. Let breath enter again. Let there be a people who rise and a land that stands—glorious and free, established again in its foundations before You.  Let the fire of the anointing be reignited across this beautiful land.

In Jesus’ name.
